hello, i’m fairly new to owning piggies, i got my first one almost a year ago. i currently have 3 piggies but about 3 weeks ago i had 4. one of my pigs died suddenly, and i was unaware that a necropsy was a thing done for piggies, otherwise i would have paid for that procedure for her. i bring that up because her sister is presenting with large lumps on the sides of her stomach area. i pressed on them gently and they do not seem to hurt her. she can not be pregnant as i had her for about 6 months and has had no contact with a male since then, and i don’t believe she has had contact with one in her life at all. she is 9 months old. i am wondering if this is something serious/something to get looked at, or if she is just gaining weight in her belly. i feel especially concerned due to what happened with her sister, but overall she seems pretty healthy. she eats lots of hay, pellets and 1-1 and 1/2 cup of veggies a day (i haven’t introduced any new veggies since i got them). i noticed these lumps about a month ago, and they’ve been getting bigger. quite frankly i owe a visit to the vet as is, to make sure what caused my piggy to die wasn’t an illness that was transferred to my remaining pigs. my other two pigs are not related, but they do not have this body type/body shape as this one. sorry the pictures aren’t great, she wasn’t a fan of laying on her back! the lumps are on both sides (tried to show both) but when she bends one way one lump is more pronounced and may be the reason some photos appear that the lump is on one side)C220D460-A323-45F8-8CC0-2F3C6E5140FA.webp24A6FC0E-54A8-4D3E-87DF-D00161C77ED6.webp67665244-D486-4ADF-B409-8E9B0E6F99D7.webp

Hi!

How old is she and how quickly has this come on?

Please have her vet checked as soon as possible; it needs a hands-on examination and then going on from there. Send them the pictures and I am sure that they will agree that it is not something you want to dawdle about too much.
