I am posting this for a friend.....She rang me today worried about her guinea pig as when she picked her up this morning she had 5 lumps on her tummy.....She didn't seem to be in pain and she is eating and acting normal.
They weren't there on wednesday when she was cleaned out but she took her to the vets this evening and he said it seemed like cancer and to keep an eye on them.......
If they were cancer would they come up that quickly? Or could they be something else?

if you can roll the lumps between your fingers freely then you dont need to worry about them, just fatty lumps. If they feel attached and cannot roll easily then you should get the piggy to the vets as soon as possible.

That is pretty much it. Rocky is covered in lipomas, poor love. They are all free-moving and roll easily, and do not cause any problems. She had had 2 removed. The tummy is a very usual place.

If one is in a critical place it may need to be monitored. One of Rocky's is over the carotid, so we keep a close eye on it.

both my male guinea pigs have got fatty lumps...one on his tummy and the other one has got them on his back...nothing spoils their appetites tho..lol

Thankyou for the advise, i will tell her not to worry to much, as the piggie is eating and acting well!

Don't worry angie, someone posted on this thread turned out to be what you call a spammer someone going around forums advertising. The mods removed it. :)
