I took Connie and Violet to the vets today as both these older ladies had developed some lumps.
Connie has a warty type lump behind one ear and a hard cyst type lump on her side. The vet is happy that they are nothing sinister so we are leaving well alone.
However Violet has a lump in her groin/hip area which is fast growing. Due to its size and the location it may impact on her movement so we've decided to have it removed. She's in pretty good shape for an older lady and the vet assures me she won't be under anesthetic for very long but it's still a worry. Violet has also been rumbling frequently so while she's in tomorrow the vet will do a scan of her ovaries. Connie is going with her for company.
Must confess I'm somewhat anxious about tomorrow. :soz:

HUGS!

Fingers firmly crossed! Any operation is always an anxious time, and it never gets any easier... :(

Sorry posted too early! I know you've got a good vet, so I'm sure she's in the best hands. all the same it's very hard not to worry terribly about the furry members of your family, so send hugs for you and healing vibes for Violet x

Good luck for tomorrow! Fudge has two lumps on her back that the vet thinks are cysts, one is pea sized and the other 10p sized- they both stopped growing months ago thankfully as fudge, being a heart piggy, would never survive a GA. she also has warts, of which i found wart number 3 last week. None of them bother her or cause pain.

Let us know how u get on!x

Good luck! Hope everything turns out just fine.

Nikki has 3 or 4 cysts on her. The first vet I took her to misdiagnosed the lumps as abscesses and popped the biggest one. The rest are still there, and they aren't anything serious.

Thanks for all the support. I've just dropped them off at the vets together so that Violet has company when she comes round from the anaesthetic. They were both rather stressed and so was I ! Long day waiting for a call now

It's horrible waiting, but it should be nice and simple. Hope it all goes well

Hope all goes well today, sending Violet love and you a hug x

Update on Violet : she and Connie are spending the night at the vets. Violet's left ovary was very large and cystic and her right one was cystic too. Took what I hope was the right decision for her to have them removed under the same anaesthetic as she had the lump in her groin removed. She's come round from the anaesthetic ok and moving about but the vets can give her better pain relief than we can at home so I've decided to leave her there overnight.

It's very quiet here. Ted and Mollie haven't made a peep even at dinner time. Shows how sensitive they are to change.

Glad shes come through the worst of it, hopefully things will move in the right direction and you can have her home safe tomorrow xx

It all sounds positive, and I'll bet once she's recovered for a few days she'll be feeling loads better having had them removed. It's weird not having them there isn't it?! xx

She's our smallest but most vocal piggy. She usually whips the other 3 into a frenzy at the sound of a footstep or a rustle of a bag, so with her and Connie missing I guess it's no surprise that it's quieter, but I'm still surprised how subdued aged and Mollie are without their neighbours.

I'm looking forward to bringing the old ladies back home tomorrow

hopefully the girls will be back today :tu: & noisy normality will be resumed. :woot:

healing vibes being sent & hopefully post op care goes well, but i'm sure they wont be spoilt at all during this time ;)

healing vibes from the girls & I.
xx
