I bring really sad news to the forum. My little piggie Luna passed away in my arms. She was only three years old, and I'm not sure why she passed. I went down to feed them and I noticed she was walking funny and she layed down on her side. I picked her up and she snuggled against me and passed. I wish I could know what happened, but I pray she was warm and it was peaceful.

She really was a one of a kind pig. She had a little tuft and was skittish but had a sweet spot for wheatgrass and apples. She would fall asleep cuddled against “grandma” (my mom). She loved her little nests. She passed away on the full moon. Just like her name Luna.

Right now I am focusing on keeping Lily warm and safe. Lily seems okay and I am hoping and praying that it was just Luna with something wrong. My family loved her so much it is unbelievable. I don’t know what I can do right now for Lily. I am going to move her up into my bedroom and make sure she has attention for now. Lily is only three so I think we are going to find an older pig to join her if we can. Sadly, where I live no pet stores are open and no adoption centers. I will see what I can do but right now I want to keep her happy and safe.

I haven’t been on here in over a year but I wanted to share. The forum has always been a safe place and I was on here almost every day the first month after I got them. I have attached some pictures of my sweet girl Luna.

I am so sorry. It is really hard to lose a beloved pet. I feel for you and Lily right now. Take care of yourself.
 
I am so so sorry. She was a beautiful girl. Sometimes there is no reason, other than it's their time to popcorn over the rainbow bridge.

I’m so sorry for your loss. She was fortunate to live her life and pass to the Rainbow Bridge in a home surrounded by love. Sleep tight Luna

How lovely for her to slip away so peacefully in your arms.

I am so sorry for your loss!

We can never choose when and what from our piggies die; we can only make every day with us the happy today that guinea pigs measure their life by. Luna looks very much like she had a blessed life!
