Well I got Africa a new buddy last December called Corly, some people might remember, haven't posted in a while... Anyways this morning, i noticed Corly suddenly lunge at Africa, no chattering, Africa wasn't even doing anything annoying, I'm not sure what it was, his head/mouth part went towards Africa's neck, Africa didn't respond and Corly was back to his normal place in less then a second but it made me worry. I haven't noticed anything since, altho Africa started mating dance pretty much a bit afterwards, probs tell Corly he's boss still, i then noticed Corly wasn't letting Africa near the water bottle but frankly Africa would just take if he really wanted, he's big enough.

I'm not worried as such, just a bit alarmed, I do have another cage, but really don't wanna have to seperate them. Corly is a very bitey guinea pig, I'm just hoping this isn't the start of something, I can't afford to seperate them and buy more guinea pigs to partner them with and Africa gets depressed when he's alone.

Just thought I'd ask for some advice, try only give it, if you've dealt with the behaviour before =] I'll keep an eye on them for now... maybe give them extra run time, see if being in a cage too long together just ****** each other off lol mallethead

Hiya hun

I don't have 2 boys so not sure but isn't it about 4 months onwards that they can start having problems like this.

I hope it's something and nothing but good you have noticed and are keeping an eye on it.

I had a similiar problem with a baby and an adult boar. The baby (14weeks) started bullying my older pig. Scabs kept appearing on my older boar but I never witnessed any aggresion. I thought they had mites and he was self harming.

I noticed something was wrong when I saw my older pig leap out the way of the baby, then one morning I was getting ready for work and witnessed the baby just turn round and bite my older boar, I took my boar out and there was the wound. I decided to leave them and keep watch, we were going to vet and I put them in the carry box the baby lunged and I had 2 entwined balls of fury, I had to throw my jacket over them and rip them apart. It all happened so fast at that point I separated. My older boar was hurt not seriously thankfully and the baby was fine.

I do believe now the baby boar was bullying my older pig.

I believe the baby hit his hormones at 14 weeks, this is when the problems came to light. At 16 weeks I separated.
