Lying on Side

I saw a thread about this but I still wasn’t sure. Skye has been the shy one since we got her home and spends a lot of time in her hide (although appears fairly normal, if not a little scared, whenever she is taken out of it). Today I’ve noticed that in her hide she’s been lying on her side with her eyes shut (I think). When you get close and say her name she will turn her head to look at you and she’s still cleaning herself. Is her side sleeping just a sign she’s relaxed? Or is she possibly ill? She’s in her hide a lot anyway so it’s hard to tell if it’s more than usual. Thanks!

I divide my piggies generally into the 'pancakes' and the 'sausages', depending on whether they prefer to sleep plat our on their belly or curved on their side. It is a matter of personal preference, but a good sign that your girl is relaxed.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I love the pancakes and sausages! Her sister and her have been arguing a little lately (their cage is too small and there’s only one hide but I’m getting them a very large cage hopefully this week) and Cici decided she wanted the hide so Skye has been kicked out! She went and ate her muesli and is now eating hay, so hopefully that’s a good sign? She looked a little drowsy/ill but now that she’s up she’s fine so I suppose she could just have been tired? Thanks for calming my worries!
