Mabel and Tibs

*unexpectedly drops by and sneaks Mabel and Tibs into a bag and runs off* :bal:

They're so cute.

My girls would probably never forgive me if I brought more piggies home.... or perhaps they'd recruit them into their gang and they'd trash the house together and Gaia would train them to be the most adorable nightmares on the planet. :xd:

No matter how much you give them, it's never enough. 😞

And after successfully using emotional blackmail 🥺 to extort 2 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 3 suppers and 17 snacks out of you, they tell each and every person passing by that you've only given them a crust of mouldy old bread all day.

They haven’t learnt to wheek yet! Is this unusual?! They get excited when new hay comes but they wheek after its arrival not before. Weird….?
Shouting to inform the rest of the invisible herd? :xd:

It took mine a while to start wheeking and it's only really Gaia that does it. Gaia is ever vigilant; always has an ear open to the sounds of rustling, the fridge door opening, people going in and out of the cupboards. She wheeks then Minerva hurries over:

Minerva: "I heard the dinner bell!"

Dignified Sir George prods Mischievous Master Boris into action to do his job as the designated wheeker for the "herd". Maybe because he's too dignified? All dignity is out of the window however when it's basil and now fennel, one whiff and he's on the full body, full volume WHEEK.....

They all do at first but need to get used to a certain amount of handling for the weekly checks. Some never stop making it a challenge. It's a big step for them.
Sir George (mostly but not always) is very good and happy to be picked up. Master Boris always makes it difficult but he's fine once you have him and lets you do what you need to but it takes time. Your girls have settled incredibly fast so far but are still very young. I reiterate that bribery works very well.

Do you recommend teaching them to syringe feed from now?

Syringe training is a good idea. Mischievous Master Boris needed no training, stick a syringe in the cage and he wants it. When Sir George has been on antibiotics I need to take him out of the cage because someone else tries to steal his medication. He also has to have his turn with a syringe and a treat as he gets jealous.

Skittish and wanted to get off my lap asap bless her
It's still early days. Saying that, I've had mine 6 months and they still don't appreciate being held or kissed. :xd:

It could be worse! Either of yours could be like Gaia; the little ratbag starts biting and tugging on my clothes the second I have hold of her. If I don't put her back down, she hunts for bare skin to maul instead.

Oh my🥴🤣

Skittish and trying to get off is actually a good sign. It means she's comfortable enough to let you know what she wants instead of freezing.
True; my two are only really sassy with me and are too scared to move when anyone else holds them or sit them on their lap.

...Apart from this one relative of mine who they both like to angrily chatter their teeth at whenever she speaks to them even though all she does is talk to them and give them treats. Every pig needs a nemesis I guess.
