Hello all :)
My lovely Madge age 3 sow developed a ruttle over the cold spell.She is eating,drinking and looks great but sounds quite nasal.Nose is clear no mucus.
We got her checked out after a couple of weeks and the vet gave her baytril just in case it was an infection,although chest sounds fine its more her nose.
She came indoors and the noises cleared up after 4 days so we thought great and tried her back in the garage on fleece this time not her usual shavings - she has been on these for long time with no problem - but attempting to find the culprit.Low and behold after a day the snuffle is back :o
Could it just be too cold for her at the moment.All my piggies live in a draught free garage and the rest are very well.
Any ideas :{

I am sorry for a return - Cariad had a similar problem. It has got better when I started to put a thicke fleece over the top of the cage at night, as it's standing close to a window.

Ask for bisolvon powder from the vet to dissolve the mucus or give sudafed expectorant 0.2 ml from the pharmacy (just don't say it's for a guinea pig!)
