Maggie came to us about 3 yrs ago as a pet shop rescue, She had a bad case of mites that they couldn't treat and were going to put her down. I was offered her and the rest is history. She was a beautiful aby x with patches of black and ginger on her face and a lovely figure normally weighing in at about 1450g. She was a loner who wouldn't bond with any of our pigs but adored human company. It wasn't until we rescued Albert that all changed. A successful bonding became Loves young dream. Everything was rosy until Albert needed a dental and reacted badly to the ga and developed heart failure and passed to the bridge. Maggie coped remarkably well and although we tried to re-bond her with other pigs none matched up to her beloved Albert. She became a little bit withdrawn 2 days ago nothing major but nothing that we could put our finger on. Last night her breathing was laboured and crackly, off to the vets for metacam and baytril. Over night she deteriorated and was taken back to the vets. (after reading posts on hear it seemed more than likely it was heart failure) the vet confirmed this and this morning Maggie travelled across the bridge to be reunited with her beloved Albert.
My darling girl taken far too soon but now at peace. Popcorn free together again with your Albert x

I am very sorry that your girl has gone to join her beloved mate at the Bridge. Sadly, there is nothing you can do when one or several vital organs are closing down. :(

Maggie will always have a special place in your heart! You have given a her a full life that she would have otherwise not have had.

So very sorry for your loss. Maggie was, obviously very well loved. Popcorn free beautiful, girl xx

:( A sad but beautiful story with a sad ending alas. It seems nothing could mend Maggie's broken heart, so she left to join her Albert on the Bridge. Popcorn free together, darlings. :bye: You will be much missed.

I'm sorry for you loss. I am very glad that you gave her the home she deserved, and that she found such a deep friendship with Albert.
Be young and free at the Bridge little Maggie, go Albert will show you the way and will be delighted to see you xx
