Once again, Mystery Maggie strikes again!

A couple of days ago I noticed that she was eating her lettuce "not quite right". The next day I thought she'd lost a bit of weight. The next day I weighed her and she had lost 120g from her last weigh in December. I cleaned them out and spent some time watching them - she was picking up nuggets and dropping them, and was trying to eat hay but pawing at her mouth.

Off she went to the vets, with me and the vet strongly suspecting a dental issue. I had to drop her off and leave her for a few hours as I couldn't make an appointment time with her specific vet around my work times, so I dropped her off and waited for the inevitable call to confirm the toofy news....

However, her teeth are perfect!

So, we have no idea what is wrong with Maggie. Her teeth are fine, mouth looks normal inside and out, jaw feels normal, no lumps or bumps or anything, although she was apparently reluctant to open her mouth and have it looked at. She's booked in for another CT scan on Monday (it'll be her 5th or 6th!), and blood tests to check her kidney function etc.

In the meantime, she's loving her critical care, and is enjoying finely chopped up veggies and the occasional treat of banana porridge! (mashed banana with porridge oats mixed in). She's gained 50g in 48 hours.

She has also posed nicely for some photos

Maggie and Jeffrey (my bestest piggies...shh! don't tell the other 5!)

Oh bless her, she's so sweet! I hope they can work out what's going on with her. At least she's amenable to syringe feeding!

Maggie! I have missed you. I love the photo of her sleeping. What a cutie. She really is not lucky with her health. Poor baby.

The great thing with Maggie is that throughout everything she's had (and it's all been pretty major!), she's never been "unwell". She's never been off her food, she's never been poorly, she's always been...well, Maggie! I'd not put another pig through what she's been through, but she copes so well and bounces back so quickly and has such a great quality of life, that it's worth it. Best pig ever!

Bless her, am assuming they ruled out oral thrush?

She is wonderful. It is thanks to you being so observant that you spot the little changes.

Poor Maggie, she has had just about everything going - wishing her well.

She's had things never seen before! Called the insurance company earlier...she has about £1000 left in her pot this year...eek!

Awwwww Maggie  One of my favourite forum piggies, such a pretty girl. Lots of healing vibes and cuddles to you x
