Has anyone had any experience of magpies attacking or trying to attack their guinea pigs. Ive not personally had this problem but I have heard stories and wondered if anyone had had that experience.

if they come anywhere near mine theyll find themselves hanging by their throats off the washing line,i hate those birds >:(

Not had any experience of that - but I do have a guinea pig called MagPie. Spelt like that because her friend is Pudding (&Pie)!

Not had a problem with magpies, but there are always loads of them around in the summertime and I really dont like them. I have heard magpie attack guineas and rabbits :'(

i once saw two kill a blackbird
theyre damn evil and a pest

a breeder i use to visit a while ago was amazed to see an owl keep visiting his garden one day he followed it down to teh bottom where his pigs shed was ( a big old caravan) and saw the owl go in the skylight and take a baby pig out, it had eaten the wiring over the skylight, :'( :'( I cried myself to sleep that night it affected me so bad
I have also seen a magpie attack a young starling down a lane where i use to live next thing i know I'm chasing this damn bird with my babys buggy screaming all sorts at it, I know starlings are nasty to younger birds but this one was not going to be killed in front of my eyes, it was fine and eventually after catching his breath flew off ,

when I was little we had a rabbit and 2 piggies - magpies used to peck the rabbit's bottom so he used to sit with his bum to the garden wall, and the 2 guineas used to chase the magpie off!

I've personally not had a problem but the piggys are only ever in the garden in secure runs (with secure lids) so I don't worry about anything getting to them. I live near a woodland area and have seen kestrels and sparrow hawks (as well as foxes) and heard owls whilst walking my dog so I would never allow them to be out unattended just incase something decided to pop into the garden.

I have seen magpies attack other birds though and I counted 47 outside my office window at work the other day..... Didn't know whether to run and hide or consider it a good sign :D

When I used to live at home, my bunny had babies, and one day whilst they all were all running round the garden, a magpie swooped in and tried to pick one of the babies up! I was out there straight away running after him and he dropped the little one luckily - they can be terrible and even though I'm a bird lover I'm REALLY not a fan of them :(

On several occaisions last summer I saw a blackbird on my patio table eyeing up my Billie (who was on the patio floor)
I was convinced that he might try and take him away
