Maisie eye

Yesterday I noticed that Maisie’s eye was shut, I thought it strange as she has big wide eyes, I got her out of her enclosure and had a look, didn’t spot anything at first then noticed what looked like to be one of her hairs in the corner, so I gently grabbed it and pulled it out but it had stuff attached, I’m not sure what it was but it fell of the hair, I’m keeping a look out and her eye is still partially open, it doesn’t seem to be giving her any pain, she did squeak when I removed it, I wiped her eye with cotton wool and water, any advise on how long it takes for her eye to heal? Thanks

It depends on whether it was just the hair or whether something else happened and the hair was just a coincidence. If she has had a poke then she will need to see a vet particularly if she isn’t opening properly

Hi all, took Maisie to the emergency vet this afternoon, they had a look into eye no problem, put a dye in her eye and it showed up where abrasion is from the hair wiping her eye ball, she’s got eye drops and metacam, she was so brave, I knew with it being emergency that it wouldn’t be cheap but she worth it, all of them are, so alls good

With the drops and pain relief she should be fine very quickly.
Glad you were able to get her seen so quickly

Update on Maisie, she doing fab , her eye is now open, she’s amazing, takes metacam no problem and just stays still whilst I add a drop into her eye, my brave girl, have a good day
