Adult Guinea Pig
Well this morning I checked on Maisie, and she had 7 beautiful babies with her.
Unfortunately, 3 were still born - the sack had been removed from their faces, so I'm guessing they didn't suffocate. They were beautiful
One was quite large, one average sized, and one was very small. I don't know what happened, but I'm just thankful that 4 survived.
The 4 survivors are 3 boars and a sow....the 3 boars are all rexes and the sow is a beautiful white/grey ish colour. One of the boars seems to only have one eye - his eyelids open a little but the eye is tiny, is this something to worry about?
Some of the babies have slightly cloudy eyes, but no hair is in them - shall I just keep a close eye on them, maybe bath them with warm water? Also one baby still has the chord attached, will she clean it off or shall I do something about it?
I'll put some pictures up when she has had some peace and quiet.
Sweet dreams little ones, I'm sorry you never got a chance at life x x x
