noticed maisie had a cut on her nose earlier and there was blood aswell. i picked her up and checked her over and i can't see anything else wrong.

i think they have had a bit of a fight because she isn't happy with chesney going near her at all.

both have got mites again from the stress of going to the vets just over a week ago.

and also, maisie has just been in season and they were doing all the chasing/humping stuff, which can look quite aggressive. this calmed down though yesterday.

they do both seem agitated with the mites and are scratching. they had their first dose of xeno450 a few days ago now.

could they have had a fight? if they are both agitated at the minute etc?

also, maisies nose isn't bleeding anymore and the cut is very little and only just scratched the surface. it isn't deep. is there something i should do with it. or just leave it to heal? or are the vets needed?

I would just leave it. Little scratches can happen in the heat of the moment.

If you want to, you can wash it with salt water solution (1tsp per pint of boiled and cooled water).

Sorry to hear of so much upset between Chesney and Maisie recently, Lea! The cut on the nose is best left alone, it will be healed and gone within a day or two. :)

thanks, i've just left it. it should heal quickly as it isn't that big. will keep an eye on her. x

My sows often nip each other when they're in season. If they have mites, they'll no doubt be uncomfortable and irritable with each other as a result. The scratch will definately heal on it's own and hopefully they'll both be feeling more sociable when the mites have cleared up :)

yeh, i thought it would be the mites making them even more irritable. they have calmed down with the scratching now and are all loved up again now maisie isn't in season.
