I've only just been able to bring myself to post this. Last night sadly Maisie Pig left us at the age of four and a half.
She had only recently been at the vets and they hadn't picked up any health issues nor did she give me any reason to believe that she suffered. I feel that it was simply old age that has taken her from us.
Maisie came to us with her pal Peaches. She was always the bossy one, the one depending attention and also the thick one. The one who would sit in her bowl at feeding time, refusing to move and not realizing that she had to shift in order to get fed. For two years she lived happily indoors, brightening up many a morning. She then moved outside and was soon joined by Rita, Gladys (RIP), Betty, Elsie and then Cilla. She was most definitely the boss, the one who was at the food bowl first and the one who barged her way into the cosies regardless of who else was in there sleeping.
You made me laugh though, especially with your daily yoga lessons and impatience when it came to fenugreek crunchies.
I love you little girl and I'll miss your big personality. I am sure that you haven't suffered though and that soothes the pain somewhat. Have fun at the bridge and look after Gladys and all the other piggies for me.
We'll miss you x
