talking to someone on facebook who seems to think anyone against breeding is stupid and idiotic.

They foster pigs but then breed

they think just because they keep them in good care its ok despite adding to the problem.

i feel like I'm not getting anywhere i feel like banging my head against a wall

Breeders often state that 'purebred' pigs rarely end up in rescue so they are not responsible for the overpopulation of pigs and genuinely don't believe they are part of the problem - petshops and 'back yard breeders' who breed for money are.

And yet out of 51 pigs here at the rescue just now, 21 are 'pure breds' and another 5 are pet quality bred by a 'well respected' breeder (so respected that the owners would not take the pigs back to the breeder when circumstances changed as the overwhelming smell of ammonia in the breeding sheds put them off giving them back).

oh by the way i got a abusive message stating that you can ' flant your precious rescue pigs all you want but it wont change anything '

i really hope i can find a local piggie rescue so that i can go and help
