Makeshift Dressing?

Clara has started interfering with her surgical incision from her recent spay (I wondered how long it would be!) so obviously we want to stop her doing this.

I'm gonna hopefully buy some vet wrap from the local vets tomorrow, but in the meantime, would it be okay to use a sterile human dressing (non adhesive), with a little bit of bandage to hold it in place, and then an old sock to cover everything? I don't want to make her worse, she has a little swelling that we've been told to keep an eye on, and I don't want to put too much pressure on that in case it's sore? (Although she didn't mind it being examined last night)

Yeah, she's on metacam, and also strong antibiotics.

She's been remarkably 'chill' about the whole thing, even when we were at the out of hours, she seemed far more concerned about missing her dinner than her massive prolapse! But the stitches do seem to be bothering her, I know from my own experience they can get unbearably itchy after a few days!
 
As long as you can fit two fingers under either side of the dressing, it should be fine. A sterile swab over the would with some knitfix bandaged over should be fine, but its the keeping it on thats the problem!

Distracting her may be a better option.. New toys and some forage should keep her busy!
