Making Cage Liners?

Hey guys,
I would love to make or buy some cage liners, but the ones that are on line are so expensive... I'm not much of a sower, either. But, I think I could manage this...

could I take two pieces of fleece, and sandwich a mattress pad between them? Would this work relatively well as a simple cage liner?

you would need mattress topper that has a 100% cotton cover

and anti-pill polar fleece i put sides on mine and charge £30 plus postage for a 2x4 c&c cage which i dont think is expensive
