Hi, my guinea pig is making a noise I've never heard before. He's a healthy piglet. He's currently eating, drinking, and defecating normally. But that sound worried me. He has never been sick, he is an old man (5 years old). Could someone help me? video.

Please upload a video to YouTube and then post a link to it here. This video you have posted seems to be inaccessible without accepting things.

If you are worried then please do see a vet as we cannot make a diagnosis.

It’s not really enough to be able to determine what he is making that sound for.

Doesn’t have a friend that he may have been squeaking at?
Does he appear to be in any pain at other times?
Is his weight stable ant each weekly check?

he lost his brother 8 months ago. But about the noise, apparently it seems to be gas, I did a massage and the noise stopped.

If he has gas then he should see a vet. It can become a serious issue and he should be checked - there is the potential for needing pain medication and if things progress, gut stimulating medication.

If you suspect this is the issue, then you would need to remove veg from his diet, switch to daily weight checks and prepare to step in with syringe feeding.

Hello. If my piggy was making that sound with the forward movement too I’d think they were in pain and would take them to the vet. Are they doing it occasionally or often? Good luck at the vets.

Hi

I agree with @weepweeps that this together with the forward jerk looks like a sudden pain-stab reaction and would recommend to please see a vet for a hands-on examination, especially if it is not a one-off.
