Male guinea pigs mate died and needs friend

Hi. We had 2 one year old long haired males. Sadly one just died. What is the best thing to do. I think we need to get a new mate but no sure how to do this.

Welcome to the forum
So sorry for the loss of your boy.
I think it’s so good that you are thinking of your surviving boy’s well being while you are grieving.
There are a couple of options you could consider:
Boar dating at a rescue. I don’t know your location but if you are in the UK there’s a list of rescues at the top of the forum.
There may be one close to you which offers boar dating.
This means that he gets a companion he will be happy with.
Another option is to have him neutered and get him a wifelet (or 2). You do have to wait 6 weeks after the op to be sure of no cute little furry consequences.

I’m sure others will have other suggestions as well.
