Male pig cleaning advise

Hi all,
I have never owned a male pig before and I have read about cleaning their genitals and them getting impacted. Any advise on if and how i should be doing this please?
He is around 11 months old and I can see no obvious problems. He cleans himself fine, poos (constantly) with no problem.
Should I be bathing him or doing anything to clean him?

The videos on YouTube for the Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue are great and show how boar cleaning is done. At such a young age, I doubt if he would need more than an inspection, but it is good to know what is going on with your boar. He won't need bathing unless he has a health issue, but then your vet should be managing it and would advise you about treatment. It's quite difficult to dry them and they generally don't like being in water. Congratulations on your piggy

Cleaning the genitals and impaction are two different things.

Impaction is when they can’t push poops out properly and it backs up inside them.
It’s often when the anal muscles lose strength due to age but it can also be as a result of other medical issues.

Cleaning the genitals is not something that you should need to do at his young age but it is a good idea to have a check. I have never had to clean any of my boars, not even the elderly ones

Bathing is not recommended to be done unless there is a medical need to do so
