Hello I'm new to this so I hope I'm doing this right. . . I have 4 sheltie/silkie guinea pigs. I havnt had them that long as rehomed them from someone that had to go into hospital about 2 months ago . When I got them there fur was really long and matted so I trimmed it all and bathed them. . Since then my big males hair has thinned out and he now has 2 bald patches on his back. Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou

It is difficult to say over the internet. I would book them a vet appointment. It is possibly a skin issue like mange mites or fungal, both of which can strike if the immune system is compromised or they are stressed. If the vet diagnoses mange mites, the best method of treatment is a round of Ivermectin injections, usually at least 3 injections about a week apart.

Thankyou very much. I will take him to the vets to see what they suggest.
