Mali died at 10pm last night after getting a serious case of diarrhea, even after visiting the emergency vet, nothing could be done and he slowly passed away in my arms whilst I spoke to my rodentologist.

He was a beautiful animal and one of my favourites, he had a scared nature but within a month had attached himself to me and I believe considered me his mommy :)

RIP Mali, you were one beautiful soul, I'll never forget you.

I am so sorry that you lost this beautiful boy! Sadly, some forms of diarrhea can kill very quickly.

RIP Mali

I'm so sorry to hear that Mali was taken so suddenly. What a gorgeous piggie and it sounds as you had a close bond. Popcorn free at the bridge little one and send piggie kisses down to your mummy who will miss you terribly..

So very sorry, he was a beautiful boy, I'm sure he knew his mommy loved him and took comfort that you were with him.

RIP Mali

Bless little Mali, so sorry you left so soon. RIP sweetheart, you will be sadly missed.:rose

I'm so so sorry :(
I was so shocked to read you lost little Mali
I'm so sorry for you.

I had a little cry, he was one of my first Foster pigs, and yes he was such a shy boy.
I had the privledge of knowing him for about a month before you offered him a home, you choose a lovely name for him, much better than 'Sprout' his original rescue name
Popcorn free little man
This is how I remembered him while he lived here with me, a little hidey man. I glad he learnt to trust you

He was a lovely boy and is free now - you did your best love for him.
Lovely touch as well to a very sad post from Salt n Peppers mum.
Hugs to you all x>>

That photo made me whell up actually. I miss him so much, it's so funny because when I got them he was going through his hormonal change so he had a fight with Zambi, cutting his lip open and I hated him loads for that as Zambi did nothing back. I split them up and then this July after we'd been on holiday I was going to get him a brand new friend :( I just wish he'd lasted longer. It wasn't right he went just after 1 year. I'm glad I had him as long as I did, he was beautiful, special, it was amazing to see how from week to week, month to month he attached to me and the whites of his eyes disappeared because he wasn't so scared. :(

I too feel that I didnt have enough time with Lady Penelope when she passed, I only had her two years and like you I wish she had laster longer. Quality of life is so important and although some piggies lifes are cut short, know that your piggies had a wonderful life with you. Its lovely that he started to trust you. I know what you mean when you say piggies are so scared you can see the whites of their eyes. Even after all this time, Matilda still gives me the eyes like saucers look of horror when I take her out of the cage. Hugs to you hun. I just never imagined how deep the bond would be between piggie and slave, and whether you have had them for a short time or a long time, the hurt runs very deeps when they pass....

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is hard when they go young... one of my pigs passed away last summer around 18 months, and I was heartbroken that she had so little time on earth. Just remember, you gave him a loving home and that's more than some poor pigs get a long life. RIP little Mali!
