Well, after much consideration.... I decided to get Mango's friend (the only one he was with when I visited the pet shop) today and he (Kiwi) has settled in so well! They are chattering away and having sooo much fun! It's lovely.

I was so relived that Kiwi was sitting there in the tunnel waiting for me (well y'know!) to come get him.

They've been out in their run today and enjoyed the weather. 8)

So without further a-do!..........

Meet .......... Kiwi (he is black and has a big white patch on one side and streaks of brown in there too!)

both snuggled in together :)

Congratulations on Kiwi! Well done for acting so quick, I'm sure Mango is very happy with his new friend. They look lovely together, looking forward to hearing all about their blossoming friendship. Just make sure they have a house each to sleep in should they wish as piggies like their own space.

I'm so pleased, they look really happy together. You will love seeing how they interact etc.

Aw... They look very happy together x

Ohh I didn't know that! Thank you! I will get them another house :)

I'm just sitting here next to them hearing them purr and chatter x)
They are in their C&C cage just now so it's lovely watching them run about playing together! :D

I'm glad Kiwi was still there when you went back and that Mango is getting along with his friend.

They make a very handsome pair :)

Awww they are both lovely. Glad you got mango hs new friend Kiwi, it'll be amazing watching them interact. Love their names as well

I just love guinea pigs even more now that his friend, Kiwi, has arrived! I can't stop researching about them etc.. Ahhhhh it's so lovely to have a piggie or two in your life, isn't it!
:) :)

Glad that you have got Mango a friend to have fun with! I am sure that in no time you will be as much in love Kiwi as with Mango. He's very much a little cutie! just wait until the two are finding their feet and voice!

You may find our boar guide helpful as your two boys are settling down together. They are still too young for the big hormones yet, so don't panic and take your time to plan any changes you might want to make to their accommodation. Even a cardboard box or a tea towel or old hankie pegged to the cage can make a perfectly good temporary hidey, you know! They certainly make good toys! ;)

Just read the guide..- how interesting! I will just go and get a cardboard box just now and make it into a hideyplace :D

I have a question- When we got Mango we asked how old he was.. expecting them to say about 3/4 months old but no - 5 months I was told, so then, long story short we found out he was a father !? So we saw his daughter (in the next pen) and when we got home we thought... is this really a good age to breed a piggie?! I thought they had to be older? Am I wrong? :/

So pleased Mango is reunited with his friend, they are very handsom chaps!

It may be, as often happens when pigs are mis-sexed or male babies not removed soon enough, that mango became a father by accident. Discussions about breeding tho are not allowed under the forum rules :)
