Today I can hear Maple breathing. This is totally new. She sounds wheezy. Its not constant but happens every 5 mins or so. She almost "jumps" as if something is irritating her. She is still moving around, eating, wheeking etc. Her nose doesn't appear to be runny but she does keep pawing at it. Do you think it could be URI? She's 6 years old and not long got over a course of bloat.

I have booked a vet appt for this afternoon!

Vet said her lungs do sound a bit noisier than they should so given me a course of baytril incase it is the start of a URI.

He said it's possible it could be something to do with allergies. I have recently changed her nuggets to supreme grain free. I order ings hay for hay for pets and have done so for the past 2 years so don't think it would be that.

Hopefully the baytril will stop anything in its tracks form starting, sending healing vibes!

Baytril didn't seem to help so back to get and he prescribed septrin and metacam. This was last week.

Today however she seems to have gone off her food. Weight is the same as last week. She's not as active and appears to be twitching and fluffing up sporadically. As if something is hurting her. Back to get tomorrow. Will syringe feed if necessary :(

If you buy a long stranded hay it tends to be less dusty and wears teeth down better Could be the dust from your hay. Just a guess. But its good you have the baytril.

Have you given probiotics with the antibiotics? Antibiotics can mess up their appetite

Have been giving her probiotic once a day with the septrin as read it wasn't so harsh on the gut compared to baytril. Maybe should have given more!

She came out at veg time. Nibbled few leaves then ran upstairs to hide in corner :(

Just doing a syringe feed just now. Couple of poos which are very soft and wet! Can hear her tummy gurgling. Thinking may be another bout of bloat!

Strange. Maybe somethings going on inside her.

You can buy infacol for bloat and gripe water. Then let your pig out for a run around . Seems to get rid

Trying to get them active is a very good plan when it comes to bloat. Or if they're not feeling up to it, take them out on a car journey in a carrier. It's worked for me a few times.

@aimzer If you're worried a vet can prescribe some gut medication that can help get anything nasty out, and to settle her stomach.

Ok so overnight she was sat in corner facing wall. Have been syringing critical care. I had some cisapride and emeprid left over so gave some through the night.

She had improved this morning. Eating and drinking bit more and less fluffy. However left her at vet today as had work. They xrayed her and fed her but didn't find anything on x-ray :/ pooing and pooping fine now! Typical! Not sure what the problem was!
