Ok so here we go, a few months ago my partner noticed a lump on marble its just below his shoulder, anyway he doesnt seem to be hurting him but recently he has lost lots of weight and is very skinny he still eats all his veggies but doesnt eat his food, i just thought mabe someone could give me some advice on what to do.:(

Trudy x

its worring that hes lost weight, sounds like the lump could be nasty and could do with comming out really so sounds like a vets job, somone els may have more info for you though but it does sound like a nasty lump that has possibly caused the weightlos, however are his teeth ok? as weightloss could be that he isnt eating, again probably a vets job so they can check his back teeth.

Hiya yep his teeth are fine we check his teeth and claws regularly, trip to the vets it is.

genrally as owners we can only see the very front teeth as the molars are hidden away at the back and unless you can get the right "tool" to look at the back of their throat we cant see them

Sorry to hear about Marble Trudy. I would whizz him up the vet to have a check over of him. Let us know how you get on. x

Will do I'm just scared incase its something serious, cuz we got serious money troubles at the moment as it is and cant afford an opperation. sorry if that sounda selfish.

Malignant tumours are not common in guinea pigs.
It could be an abscess, a sebaceous cyst, a lipoma, a fibroma or an enlarged lmyph node.
Don't be in too much of a hurry to associate the weight loss with the lump.
Please post more information eg pig's age, size and position of lump, consistency, mobility and fixation to any other structures.

Where in the West Midlands are you? PM me if you do not want to post location.
