As you all know i posted a while back about marble having a lump on his back, anyway we took the little man to the vets today as he has lost alot of weight.
the vets gave him two injections one inflammatory and one pain relief just incase he has also been given some some recovery food and they mabe taking him in tomorrow to put him under anesthetic to see whats going on, do you think he will be ok?

What is the provisional diagnosis?
I would be very wary of a GA just to "see what is going on".

He said it could be his teeth although he checked them and he said they looked ok he said his gums were quite red, or it may be something to do with the lump on his back.

I'm sorry to hear Marble's not doing so well. If his gums look red they may be a bit sore; the cause of this would need to be determined - no anesthetic necessary provided the vets have the skills and tools for the job. A sore mouth or overgrown teeth could be to blame for the redness of the gums and the weight loss.

The contents of the lump can be aspirated via a needle, to see if the contents are liquid. Lumps are usually abscesses or cysts, but 'tumours' (usually benign) do occur.

hi all took him back to the vets today and they seem to think it is his teeth so he has gone to have the filled today hope he is ok. gotta call the vet at 4pm to see how he got on.

Keeping my fingers crossed ofr the poor boy!

hey guys thanks for keeping the fingers crossed we were told this morning that we would be able to pick him up tonight, but i just rang the vets and they said his teeth were not to bad at all but unfortunatly he hasnt come round from the anesthetic as well as the vet had hoped, and he wants to keep him overnight, I'm really worried bout him and wondered if anyone had any advice please? :(

See my pm. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do after the event, except hope.

I'm so sorry Trudy, will keep everything crossed for Marble. As Al said I think it is just a waiting game and hoping he does come around. x

i think he has come round the vet didnt really say, he just said he is coming round slower than he had hoped. the vet informed me that he has passed some poo, but he is on a drip. i just hope hes ok.

Any more updates this evening? I really hope Marble picks up and is back with you tomorrow.

Come on Marble! Everyone is sending you healing vibes. I hope he is home with you soon.
