Senior Guinea Pig
Maria is a very young new mum. When rescued she was living in the same cage as her own father, so went on pregnancy watch for the standard 70 days. On day 66 she finally gave birth, thankfully Maria made it through easily and safely, despite being so very young, with 3 large fit healthy babies.
As she and 3 others were being offered 'free to good home' on a local facebook selling page they were at risk of being used for something other than a pet, or at best being given to family with no thought to the high risk pregnancy inflicted on her just days before.

Here's a pic of her just 7 days before giving birth, she became a lot bigger soon after as the babies grew quickly in the last week.
The new family just 12 hours old.
Male, rex, crested. Chunky monkey!
Male, crested, almost completely black apart from some white toes on his back foot.
Female, smooth coated, black with a touch of gold.
