This morning when I was feeding the girls I noticed white mark behind Rosies ear. Anyone know what it is?

Not sure, I'd be tempted to take her to the vets in case it's fungal. Sorry don't know anything regarding skin probs. Hopefully an experienced member will drop by soon...

Looks like something that could be contagious - I'd separate her from the rest for now and get her checked out.

As suggested, i would get her checked out by your vet. Hope its nothing serious.

She is going to the vet later. I really hope its not too serious and I am glad i haven't moved all my old cages into the attic.

Personally I would say separating once fungal shows is too late to prevent it's spread - it can take weeks to show and the chances are that all will be affected once one has symptoms.

Prompt treatment should sort it, Malaseb/Sporal D shampoo for all to control any spread and for a small lesion like this I would use Surolan (if it is diagnosed as fungal). More vets are prescribing Imaverol in cases of ringworm now and I find it very effective.

It could be a small bite wound, scratch from due to mites/lice, so a vet diagnosis is vital.

As Suzy said really, I gave her a check when she was here and she was fine, so this is something new. You've got it early so should clear up quickly with treatment.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'll keep you posted on what the vet says later.

It does look like a scratch to me - Isiah had something similar on his lip which just scabbed over and then cleared up. He was fine.

Vet said it didn't look fungal or any infection. The assumption is it is a nip from one of the others. Just me being a paranoid slave:red
