Marshmallow is spending the day at the vets for tests 😭

marshmallow is being started on bio lapis long term to help keep her hydrated and her electrolytes balanced to try and help the potentially poorly kidney 🥰 I hope she'll drink it easily! About to try it out! It may be I end up syringing it to her every day if she doesn't willingly drink it!

After doing well for the past few months marshmallow spent another day in the vets having fluids and tests yesterday. Poor girl has arthritis pretty much everywhere, her spine seems effected too. They think this is what is causing the muscle wasting and weakness. But she is now not eating much and has 2 sore eyes so she is going back at 10:30 🥺

Poor girl! All the best!

Growing old is not fun... :(

Hope she recovers soon, poor little Marshmallow. I’m sending lots of healing vibes x

Oh poor girl. Hope Marshmallow starts to feel better soon. It's so hard when they start to get old.😢

Just got her home 🥰
She has had some more sub cut fluids and a cartrophen injection. If we can get her eating we will try a referral for laser therapy as that really helped babybelle and princess with arthritis.
Her eyes are not ulcered but they are bloodshot and sore with some white spots (potentially calcium deposits).
The biggest issue we have is that she is in a lot of pain. She has paracetamol as well as metacam and is on intensive care emeraid for syringe food, has cisapride and has had the cartrophen.
The feed she just took is the most enthusiastic she has taken all night so fingers crossed 🤞
She is slow to respond and lift her legs when the vet was trying to stimulate her which is what was happening back in July.
Getting old is no fun at all. She is looking very frail. I need to give her a bum bath as poor girl is in a mess.

Sending healing thoughts for Marshmallow. I know how you are feeling as we have been through this with 2 of our oldies this year. It's so hard watching them struggle and wanting the best for them. Fingers crossed that the Cartrophen helps.xx

I'm sorry your girl is showing her age. Having seen Jenny slow down it's just heartbreaking. I hope she's enjoying her cuddles xx
