Someone of you may have seen a thread recently about the new size of burgess pellets. It's not been too much of a problem for my pigs, especially Pippin, as she tends to drop her pellets in water before fishing them out to eat them.

My question is: would it not be simpler to soak the pellets before I give them to them and create a mash than to keep letting them do it themselves, thereby completely avoiding the chances of breaking teeth or choking.

Are there any advantages/disadvantages to doing this?

You can serve mash, if your girl likes it better. We recommend it for babies and for ill piggies. What you need to keep in mind that mash tends to go off rather quickly, so you need to change it at least twice daily.
