I had Matilda at the vets tonight as she has been losing weight. The vet thoroughly examined her teeth and mouth, which showed no signs of inflamation or overgrown teeth. He also had a feel of her abdomen and said one of her kidneys is enlarged. He has prescribed 0.04ml baytril once a day. Does anyone know if baytril is the best AB for a kidney infection? I also asked him about the doseage being once a day, and he said I can split it to 2 x 0.02 mls. Matilda is still drinking but the weight loss has been rapid over the last few days. Matilda is approx 7 years of age....

I'm so sorry Angie, i hope Matilda is comfortable. My vet normally advises if or not I should split the dose.

Sorry no help with the antibiotics etc., but just wanted to sending healing vibes to the gorgeous Matilda, I hope she feels better soon .xx
