only 1 baby! x

Just one baby! How odd. Also one of our rescue bunnies had surprise babies once and didn't like us near them never mind holding them! I think they sometimes kill them if another scent is on the babies? We just left her to and checked every couple of hours to check everything was okay,
What a beautiful baby though :)) x)

I thought they killed them to, but you have to check for dead babies and like make sure the baby is fed, i smoherd my hands and arms in her bedding, done a check this morning will check again tomoz morning to make sure it had a rounded belly

yhh people said 1 baby is odd! and its because the baby is huge, she would only of had room for 1 inside her! xx

Well good luck, I hope the baby does well, soo precious x)

Oh wow, adorable. Hope Mum and baby are both ok.

Cute :) You can handle the babies, it's not a problem at all, it's a myth that the mother will kill them. That really applies to hamsters and stuff, not rabbits :)

But since there is only one baby, I'd be a little worried about it getting chilled cos it has no brothers or sisters to keep it warm. Does it live indoors or outdoors? Maybe you could put a hot water bottle at one edge of the nest (so it can crawl towards it or off of it) to keep it warmer?

The people on the rabbit forum probably gave you great advice anyway :)

Awwww what a sweetie, hope the little one keeps strong keep us updated x

been told its hugee for a baby :/ which is good in a way means its stronger etc! ive not seen her feed it yet so abit nervous! but gona check tomoz x

You might not see her feed them, they don't do it too often. :)

But just check the belly looks round, not empty and wrinkly (some wrinkling is ok, but it should be round enough). I'm sure you already know that though :)

managed to take another look tonite, belly is not rounded but mum milk bar thing might not be through yet, as its not ven 24 hours old, so hopefully tomoz morning when i check their will be a nice tubby belly, the baby is huge tho so very strong and active x

awe so cute :)

My rabbit had an accidental litter almost 5 years ago (thats why i have 2 boys) and I handled them and she even nursed them in front of me and never had a problem. All 4 are almost 5 years old this August and doing great!

I hope your little one does great too. Must have been quite a shock!

That's great that the baby is so strong :) Don't worry yet anyway. Hopefully the baby's tummy is round this morning, or else you could try sitting the mum on your lap and holding the baby up to the nipple.
