I'm feeling really ashamed about this. I've been unwell (mentally and physically) for the last week or so. I've been keeping my piggies clean and fed but haven't managed much lap time. I picked up Flynn tonight and she's got a horrible matted knot of fur on her back. She's too wriggly for me to safely cut it. I have her a quick bath and trimmed what I could. She's been curled up on me wrapped in a towel for the last hour or more so I think she's forgiven me.

I'm considering taking her to the vets so they can help me trim the knot. It must be pulling on her skin when I try to cut it.

This is the right thing to do isn't it. I feel so awful. I've had her for 18 months and never let this happen before.

Sorry if this was the wrong part of the forum.

If you are worried about nicking the skin and dont have anyone to hold her then a nurse appointment at the vet will be enough for someone to trim it for you.

All the best

@Adelle thank you. I took her in today. They used clippers and sorted it all out. They ended up not charging me because it was done so quickly.

She said she was glad I took her in because she'd prefer to clip her fur than have to put stitches in because I'd accidentally hurt her.

Glad you got everthing sorted for Flynn, don't beat yourself for letting him to get tangled, you weren't well it happens!

I'm glad they sorted it for you! It will be easier to keep on top of now the hair is short and you are feeling better, a quick brush most days should do the trick to keep it at bay, and even trim the hair yourself once in a while to keep it short.. Doesnt have to be pretty, as long as it makes them feel more comfortable x
