Mavis and Moo say we still here Our lazy slave fault

You can read about the Pendle witches online 🧙 The caretaker of one of the schools I taught evening classes in was a direct male relative of the “Nutter” family. He was very proud of his heritage 😊 I used to live near Mother Shipton, a famous witch who lived in a cave by the river Nidd in Knaresborough

Wow good to know you heard and me impressed.
I live in a very small village called Sabden which is at the bottom of Pendle Hill of course we locals know about Alice Nutter
Mrs Demdike and the poor others who were hung dipped etc 500 years ago.
It’s great for local history etc.
I use pendle hill a lot as it’s beautiful and full of history
Mist over Pendle (book)
Devil footprints (rock formation) as a witch was flying over and dropped some stones out of her apron. Ohhhhhh spookie

Wow that was an amazing read and the paintings and drawings were great. The school caretaker must have been such an interesting man. Anymore info on Mother Shipton?Any drawings of her cave by the River Nidd?
More fun reading!
When I was a little girl back in the early 1960’s it was a local custom to take a Teddy or object you loved to Mother Shipton’s Cave. Someone would hang it on a hook over the doorway of the cave were springwater dribbled down onto the hanging objects. You went back in a years time and collected your Teddy/object and it literally was turned to stone

My father told during a visit to the caves
That if I was naughty I would be put into the waterfall and turned to stone like the other’s hanging (teddy bears)
It was a wake up call for me.
