I always thought when piggies were sleeping, they kept there eyes open or half open as they are prey animals. I have clearly been proved wrong. Sitting watching Pebbles for over half an hour sleeping with her eyes shut! Even took pictures, she is clearly dead to the world.

I always wondered about this too, they hardly ever blink when I first got them I was really confused about how they could never blink ;D
 
As far as I have noticed, mine have theirs half open, the only way I know they are sleeping is the ear twitching although yesterday Ludo was led on his side on his armchair dozing off. It is so sweet!

Pebbles is gorgeous, funny how her face is in front of the poo! :))

jake sleeps with his eyes closed shame oliver doesn't caught him dreaming the other day & his eye going side to side looked so funny :p
 
shes a cutie.mine sleep with their eyes closed too,sometimes i get worried and have to check they are breathing as they look far too relaxed!
 
Ah, she looks very peaceful! :)

Willow was desperatley trying to stay awake the other night. She gave in in the end and put her head down, eyes closed for half an hour or so. Very cute to watch zzz
 
Maurice sometimes shuts his eyes completely, Julien on the other hand doesnt close his eyes for anything though there has been the odd occasion where his eyes have got half shut he likes to see whats going on most of the time.

I remeber not long after we got them I was looking at them from a distance and Maurice was really still eyes open and I walked up to their cage not creeping and he still didn't move. I thought the worst and panicked, touched him - I dont know who jumped the highest him or me he must have been sleeping really well. Think he has learned that if he is sleeping to shut his eyes so i know he is sleeping and not to disturb him lol
 
I love seeing piggies snoozing. My Montgomery is so chilled out and I often catch him napping. Wonderful photo..

my maggie-may was glad that her bf has his eyes open whilst sleeping because hers go firmly shut as she needs a deep beauty sleep to stay that precious!

Pebbles is a cutie!

that's maggie-may sleeping when she was about 20 weeks old, but she still does it now! sooooo cute!
