But when mini pigs are born...are they born with teeth?

Just wondering cos if I was a mummy pig to babies with teeth, it'd be enough to make me retract my nipples! :x

Yes born with teeth - and very occasionally they do use tham to latch on to mum, I've had to hand raise a couple that did and mum would not feed them (don't blame her).

Mums do sometimes lose the tips of their teats by the time the babies are weaned.

That explains peppa's bleeding nipples......:x you can also feel them grinding there teeth inside mum!
 
They are born with teeth, yes! Babies need to be able to keep up with their roaming group right from the beginning.

Sometimes, you can hear the pups grinding the teeth in the womb in the very last days before birth.

But you can feel for the poor mummies and have sympathy when they are trying to wean the little ones as quickly as possible!

I'm glad I'm not a mummy pig! At least if I have a human baby I can feed it with no teeth! I've never had a baby pig so never known!

Stupid pills are part of my daily medication regimen! It's the soul reason I cannot meditate - I just think of stupid things!

I once asked a crematorium worker man whether fat people burned quicker than skinny people, due to the fat fueling the fire - he just looked at me like i was mad rolleyes
 
Not quite true about the human baby bit - I fed my babies until they were both nearly one and they had a good few teeth by then:)) Some human babies get their first teeth very early on - luckily I had about 5 months of no teeth feeding. The first time they bit me I just said NO in a big voice and they generally only nibbled after thatrolleyes

As soon as there's a tooth, it isn't going anywhere near my boobs! I'd rather attach a milking machine!
 
Haha - yes it can be quite scary as a mouth full of teeth approaches you - I do feel for the piggy mums with several toothy mouths attacking them at once. Toe curling.

They do sell those you know.. "milking machines" i mean. Although i think they are called expressers or something. :)

My auntie had to use one as my cousin was born with a clef pallet so needed a special bottle but she didnt want to stop breast feeding.
 
All this talk of babies - you aren't getting broody are you Amanda? Or is there something you need to get off your chest (no pun intended) :)) ;)

I thought it was a very intelligent, well thought out question. Unfortunately, crematorium man didn't :(
