Three adorable little baby sisters that were born at TEAS Sanctuary (The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary for Guinea Pigs With Special Needs) have arrived this morning and have bonded in with my TEAS foster group over the course of the day. Their pregnant mum, Athena, was part of the major Rainbow Ark rescue in February; the girls were born not very long afterwards.

Please excuse if I may be a bit distracted in the next few weeks; I hadn't counted on quite so many babies, but who could choose between the sisters? :D

Some pictures from the bonding:

The girls are meeting their new TEAS family, neutered "husboar" Bedo, matriarch Essylt/Jessica and her rescue born daughter Crisiant/Krystal in the bonding run in the kitchen.

Mererid/Merryweather (my little new black "pearl") - she's the most athletic and naughty one

Morwenna/Fauna ("white seas") - the fluffiest, but least dominant of the sisters

Myfina ("my little lovely one", pronouned like MerVEEna), the feistiest little one

Mererid is the busiest of the little ones exploring their new home!

The babies are making themselves at home. At the moment, they are having only hideys with two exits in the cage until the end of the dominance phase.

There is a lookalike next door!

They look like they are going to be cheeky! Hope they settle in well. I am really looking forward to updates on them. I love the fact you have a TEAS group of piggies - so cool.

They are so cute, glad they seem to be settling in well.

That's amazing... total gorgeousness ... :love::love:

I think I'm in love with little Mererid - looks like you have your hands full Wiebke!

Things are going very well. Matriarch Essylt is still busy throwing her weight around somewhat (although well within the parameters of normal dominance behaviours), but she is also allowing the pups to snuggle up with her for a nap. Not bad for day one!

Mererid is definitely one to watch - what a cheeky little monkey! Myfina is a snuggle-upper and Morwenna is adorable, but getting pushed around a bit.

They are lovely Wiebke and so lucky to be with you. I know that you'll be thinking how lucky you are to have them with you. Hope the bonding goes well.

The bonding couldn't have gone better; things are very quiet and relaxed this morning (or as quiet and relaxed as they can with youngsters!). Dominance has dwindled to an absolute minimum. :)

I just keep looking at the pictures. So beautiful. I had a minor surgical procedure done today so feeling a bit grim and came back to this post to revel in piggy loveliness :)
What has happened to Mum, Athena?

What has happened to Mum, Athena?

Athena and her daughter Bella (who had a litter of three boys that are coming up to separation time) will be looking for a loving home soon. Mum and daughter have been living together at Rainbow Ark (unfortunately with unneutered boars) and are closely bonded. Athena is very dominant and needs to be head of any group.
Debbie wanted to be able to keep in touch with the little girls when she made the difficult decision to rehome her Rainbow Ark family; she knew that I was seriously thinking about adopting a baby girl a two.

I'm sure i saw photos of Athena and thought she was beautiful. What a shame they lived with unneutered boars. I'm glad you have such lovely girls in your herd now though.

Lovely pictures and a lovely outcome for those little piggies. Thank you for telling us about it all and I really do like your bonding pen.

More additions to the tribe!
All piggies are gorgeous, awh, mini lawn mowers in the cage!

Both Athena and Bella are beautiful! I hope that somebody will fall in love with them when they are ready to look for a home! Sadly, there are only so many piggies I have space for, especially if it means yet another group...

Gosh you are going to be busy Wiebke, glad all is going well with the bonding. Some lovely piggie pictures, thanks for sharing.
