Hello again
I am super excited as i am collecting my first pair of pigs next week. Just wondering whether the meadow hay or the ings hay from hay for pets is better. Also what size bale should i get?

I don’t necessarily think better is the thing...what I mean is, some pigs will prefer one type of hay, others won’t. Some will eat one type for a while but then get bored and trying something different keeps them interested. Perhaps buy small amounts to begin with and see which they prefer!
I buy large farm sized bales of meadow hay for all my animals (piggies and rabbits) from a farm supplier as I get through so much of it. I use the meadow hay for bedding but also for eating. I then give them Timothy hay/orchard grass mix which I keep just for eating by putting it in bowls (they won’t use hayracks!) to stop them from pooping all over it which is what happens with the piles of meadow hay!

I would say give a mix of different types of hay and always trust your piggies judgement in the matter! The piggies are the hay experts whatever the hooman peoples think, piggies spend all day thinking about hay. And veggies. And other piggies. And hidey tubes and houses. And naps. But mostly hay :)
