Meet Betty and Barney

Since Betty and Barney are both very timid and skittish, I have kept the direct contact to a minimum so far. I take them out for weighing (with a quick cuddle) and during cage cleaning. Apart from that, I read to them for a short time most evenings. I started sitting at my kitchen table as far away from the cage as possible and gradually moved closer. Now I can sit on the floor right next to the cage without them getting into a panic.

Yesterday I took them out for a bit. After a short while Barney got a bit restless and started to lick my hand. ❤️ I was very surprised because he doesn't even take food from my hand yet. One time he was brave enough to take a piece of carot but he didn't dare to do it again.

Betty used to be in full flight mode whenever someone held her. She has made sooo much progress as well. Yesterday she was next to Barney and lay there without having to be held all the time.
She also puts on weight continuously and has grown a bit. ❤️

They have a really lovely home with you and get lots of attention and socialisation. It takes a lot of hard work and patience to socialise piggies going at their speed, but it is so much worth it to you and to them 🥰🐾🏡🥒
