Julesie
Senior Guinea Pig
Hello everyone!
I am currently looking after a piggie who I have named Duke.
His old owner sadly ended up in hospital and was no longer able to take care of them. A neighbour then took him along with 3 other boars. They all lived together peacefully. Sadly the friend not knowing piggies dynamics gave the dominant boar away. This caused the remaining 3 to start fighting. Duke sadly lost and was evicted.
I volunteered to take him when he was being given away for free in my brother's neighbourhood bulletin board. I didn't want anyone without knowledge taking him and keeping him single - as was advised.
He was dropped off along with a cage. Here's photos of the day I got him.
He was covered in bites which I have given him pain relief for and the lady told me she just fed them some carrot and apple everyday.

His bite wounds which are mostly healed now.

This is him now! Taken 18 days later.

He is a super friendly little guy and loves to wheek at me.
He's roughly 3-3 half years old.
I have a new mummy hopefully sorted out for him. She has a herd of ladies and would like a neutered boar to go with him. I will keep him while he heals from the surgery as her ladies are out in a shed and he can stay indoors until he's healed.
So everyone I am pleased to introduce Duke!

Fast asleep in the open. Not a worry in the world, until he hears the rustle of a bag
