Barley has been on his own since we lost his beloved Ellie. Any attempts to bond him with our girls had failed and it was looking like we would need to take him dating. Then our friend asked us if we would take her sow Dulcie. She had originally been part of a bigger group but had sadly lost her friends, including her boar friend Mooli and Sophie who she was still living with was getting distressed with Dulcie wanting to play all the time (Sophie has always preferred her own company). So she is here. It is basically a long term foster arrangement as she will always be Gigi's pig and we have said she can see her whenever she wants to.

Anyway, it was almost love at first sight, they are so smitten with each other and there has been lots of humping and popcorning. She is the tamest pig ever, lets us stroke her and have cuddles, and she bites our lips when she needs a wee. She also helps with the daily cage clean. Gigi has done an amazing job with her as she was very nervous when she arrived. She had been living on her own in a small cage. We think she is about 2 and very lively, so Barley at 4 is getting a bit worn out.

Here they are (she's the black and tan one)

What great news for Barley and Dulcie. I'm so pleased GiGi has asked you to look after Dulcie.

She just nicked his celery - that went down well

Dulcie couldn't have come to a better home.

I remember when Gigi adopted Dulcie and she was very nervous.

So pleased for everyone and every pig that all has worked out well xx

She has done an absolutely amazing job with her. Apparently Sophie is much happier too. I said if she turned out to be miserable we could reverse it and she foster Barley for a while instead so they would be a trio.

Awwww bless, Dulcie is beautiful I am sure she is going to love it with Barley. Gigi must be really pleased to have found a great home for her. x x

That is such a lovely thing to offer :)

I have recently spoke with Gigi and although she is very upset to have had to make the decision to let Dulcie go, Sophie is so much happier by herself.

I love a story where people put the well being of their piggies before their own xx
