Today we welcomed a new piggie into our home. She is our first sow and a new friend to our soon to be husboar Ohmi. Ohmi is going to meet the plum fairy next week, so the couple will have to live side by side in a divided cage for a while. We decided to adopt already because I didn't like seeing Ohmi all alone, and we can manage with a divided cage for as long as it is necessary.

So here is Faradi!

Than you all! She really is very pretty, same coulouring as Ohmi actually, but Ohmi doesn't have a crest. I'm still waiting for them to realise each other, little Faradi is hiding and not making any sounds so Ohmi is only suspecting something's different.
 
We have had progress! I spotted Ohmi and Faradi standing against the divider sniffing each other out a couple of times yesterday :yahoo:At least no instant aggression, fingers crossed they will continue that way when they can finally meet without the divider. Faradi is still very shy, but I managed to persuade her to take a piece of swede from my hand twice. She had also eaten all her pellets during the night even though the pellet bowl was placed dangerously far away from her hidey.
 
Oh my, she’s a beauty. Once she realises she’s landed on her paws with you I’m sure she’ll be up at the bars and hollering for her veggies. Lucky Ohmi. I’m sure he won’t miss his plums but he will love having his wife.
 
What a delightful new guinea pig you have there! They are going to make such a striking couple. Hope the op, the wait and the eventual bonding all go well.
 
@Merab's Slave I usually take a lot of pictures of my piggies so don't worry some of them are bound to end up here too! :))
 
Your first pic is too precious for words :-). Ohmi is very, very handsome and so cute in his looking in to his new best friend and wife.

Congratulations on your new one. Hoping for a speedy recovery from the op and a fast happy couple!

Okay today is the day of Ohmi's op and I'm so nervous! :yikes: I'm having the day off from work so now I'm just sitting at home and dreading for the afternoon. Ohmi is due at 1.20 pm so we won't need to leave for a while. The vet is about half an hour drive from here, but I'm still going to stick around that area for the duration of the op. The vet told me they usually need about three hours for the piggy to fully wake up before they release them to go home.
 
Just caught up with this thread! Faradi is just gorgeous. Ohmi will be fine. Christian and Dennis visited the plum fairy 18 months ago and were OK and loved it after the 6 week wait! Christian's op is today and I am nervous too:yikes:. I have to drop him off at 9.30 and pick him up around 4ish. I'll be thinking of Ohmi this afternoon.
 
Thank you @Betsy I'll be thinking of Christian too! Fingers crossed both boys will do just fine.
 
Fingers crossed, dont forget to make sure vet prescribes pain relief for after operation. Hope all goes well today
