Heulwen, my little lady "Sunshine" (spoken HYLE-wen), has been with me for nearly two weeks now. She's Hedydd's older sister from a previous litter and therefore had to pass her 10 weeks pregnancy watch at Suzy's rescue in Glynneath, which is why she couldn't come here together with Hedydd. They are both part of Suzygpr's "Ginger Army" - mummy had another litter of six very similar looking girls on 1st December. Heulwen has thankfully turned out not to be pregnant. http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=80208


Unfortunately, shortly before Heulwen's piggy train was due, she developed a fungal patch on her ear. That is why she's gone straight into my isolation cage with my own fungal case Ceri since her arrival. Things just don't seem to go as easy for poor Heulwen as they did for Hedydd! Sadly, it will be another few weeks before she and Ceri are safe to join the Tribe, so I have decided to officially introduce Heulwen now that she is starting to settle in a bit more.

Ceri wasn't really chuffed about meeting a new piggy at first, although she was popcorning within 48 hours of them moving in together after another fungal bath...

I hope that Heulwen will become a happy member of the Tribe in her own time. It will certainly be interesting as the two sisters are very different in character!
 
awww she's lovely, poor girls I hope they both get better soon. I absolutely adore that last action shot!
 
How gorgeous. Amazing how you can get them to bond in such a short space of time.
 
Awww, been looking forward to the proper introduction of dear Heulwen! She's a beauty, glad Ceri came around to her in the end and good luck with the tribe bonding! Hywel really cannot get any luckier a pig what with ALL those girls! :))
 
Oh she's gorgeous congratulations! Goodness how many does that make? Your veg bill must be enormous lol :))

Oh Wiebke she does look like she's got a lovely pigsonality! and yes that last action shot is just a classic :(|) I notice she already has the Tribe trait...... lush butt drool
 
I am sure that Heulwen is going to fit into the Tribe! And yes, that cute bum was one of the reasons I fell in love with her. xoxo

On a very practical level, I want to be able to distinguish every piggy of mine from either end at first glance - with so many roaming... :))
 
It's great to see Heulwen's formal intro thread and pics. The Ginger Army is seriously depleted now with only 3 of the babies left - though as they squabble a fair bit it looks like they will be suitable girls for the sow dating service.

Just as a quick side note I'd like to add that it's not normal for me to allow any pig to leave the rescue that is showing the least sign of a problem. In this case Wiebke was already dealing with poor Ceri's little problem so had all the isolation set-up and medication in place. It just seemed like sod's law that she should have a flare up after so long on pregnancy watch and waiting for the piggy train to be running.

I love the last shot - all bathwater and grass trimming flying! Fantastic.

After meeting the little lady today I can confirm that she is a real cutie with such adorable big eyes. I was a little dissapointed that my favourite girl Ceri didn't come out to say hello, I don't blame her though, she is a little under the weather at the moment.

Heulwen is beautiful! I love the drying pigture, like she just stepped out of a piggy salon! lol
