Meet Jynx!

Poor gorgeous Daisy. I hope you can keep her comfortable and she has lots more happy days with you. Sending healing vibes and hugs ❤️

It's been a day and I'm not holding out much hope for poor Daisy. She's wretching infrequently, and fluid is coming up from her stomach. She's not being sick exactly, but fluid is seeping up due to the internal issues. The vet already trimmed the hair under her chin to make her more comfortable and suggested she come home for me to spend more time with her. I have a consult on Friday, but I'm considering bringing it forward to tomorrow and having her PTS. I didn't realise how skeletal she'd become with all her hair, but it's really evident now. She's never been chonky, but she was at 659g this morning; she hasn't got any weight to lose. It feels quite unfair to keep going when she looks like this.

I am so sorry to read this it sounds like you know the time has come to say goodbye if she is suffering but it must be the most difficult decision ever to have to make. I'm keeping you both in my prayers and thoughts 😔🙏

I've booked Daisy in to be PTS in this afternoon. She's down to 580g(!) this morning and, although there's not as much drool, it's probably because there isn't as much food in her gut. She's still very hunched, but is looking much perkier now the meds have kicked in; she's eating all the veggies and drinking water. She even ran over excitedly for grass!

I'm relieved to know she's able to enjoy her last few hours in some comfort.

Daisy was PTS this afternoon. I had my doubts before we left as she was eating some pepper, she'd pooped a healthy amount in size and shape in the carrier, and she was looking brighter, but that was probably because I'd given her an extra dose of Metacam. The vet was honest with me and agreed it was her time as her belly was really swollen, but she was so skeletal and not going to be fit for surgery. I'm glad she was able to have a good-ish day beforehand, and the illness was pretty swift.

Bless you for making this heartbreaking decision, she is pain free now and reunited with those who have gone before her she will always be in your heart and she will have taken all of the love you gave her as she crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈

I’m so sorry Daisy has left for the rainbow bridge. Popcorn high over there gorgeous girl. ❤️

BIG HUGS

I am so sorry that you had to take your leave from your gorgeous girl after such a dramatic decline and without any hope for improvement. Nevertheless, you have given Daisy a very happy and fulfilled piggy life.

I'm so sorry you lost Daisy. 😭💔 You've done what's best for her and she had a good last day with all of you. Big hugs to you. ❤️

Popcorn free Daisy. You will be missed dearly. 🌈❤️

Miss Luna had her spay today and came home this afternoon! She's already tucked into her pellets and some freshly picked grass as I type.

As you can see, she's had keyhole surgery to her remove her ovaries. She has lost her "spoilers" for now! Apparently there have been recent studies to show that leaving the uterus intact doesn't cause any ill effects (unlike dogs which can get pyometra), so the vet could carry out a less invasive operation. The cost came to just shy of £250 and she has a post-op check on Friday.

And now the op is out of the way, it's time to find her a friend or two...

Pleased to hear that the op went well.
Hope that Luna continues to have a good recovery.
