We were in P@H today as needed emergency hay supplies and before I could stop him the OH had wandered off up to the adoption centre.

While we were there we spotted a little female piggy called Marble. However there was already a lady interested but she was explaining how she had just lost her rabbit and Marble could live in the cage she now had spare i.e. keeping her on her own. We weren't impressed an explained about our set up and how she would live in a herd with a neutered boar and his sows and luckily it was decided that this was the much better option.

So she has come to live with us. She is "excess stock" as she is only 4 months old but when she came into the branch the staff noticed that she was much much smaller than she should be and was not particualrly healthy and they kept her separate until they could get her stronger. They now feel she is strong enough to be rehomed. She is only 374g and we will need to start piling the weight on her. But that's fine as it's what we are doing with Nigel who has critical care every day to build him up.

Anyway, here she is, not a great picture as she hasn't come out of her cozy cup yet. Will be a while before intros with the others I think.

Aww, she's diddy x)
Our little girl who we had from a rescue 10 days ago stayed in her cosie for the first evening but the next morning was stomping around and nomming on veggies as if she'd been here forever :(|)

Oh bless her. Hopefully she will do the same. Will see what happens at veggie time later when the others start wheeking.

I know lol. He's worse than me.

She's been sitting on him for about half hour now and has had a little bit of apple and has been eating her poo. She seems really content.

Bless her, she looks like she needs some friends.

She looks very lovely no wonder Ross couldnt help himself :))

Will look forward to Marble's story of how she settles in with your herd.

:)p

Thanks :) She is really active tonight, been popcorning in her hay tray. Also just had a nose to nose through the mesh of the Trixie run with a PEW - not sure which one as I can't tell the difference from behind lol.

Oh God just discovered the run she is in has a hole and she stuck her head out and sniffed Maddie's nose. Have blocked it off now. She is so excited and has been popcorning all round her run and has met most of the piggies through the mesh which makes her popcorn even more.

:)) Bet it wont be long before she puts on that weight now she has other piggies around her. Just goes to show how every piggie needs their friends.

Giddy Marble x)

Definitely, she is eating loads, she had polished off most of her veggies before I left for work this morning. Ross said that when he got up and went in the living room she was running round in circles in her run and all of the others were peering in watching her.

Here are a couple more pics:

Thanks, I like it too, wish I could take the credit for choosing it.

aww what a cutie x) Although, I do feel sorry for the person who was interested in her before you were. :( I just hope that they decide to get 2 piggies instead of 1.

I think she was only thinking of getting her on a whim. She had the spare cage, saw her there and thought ooh I could put her in the cage. Then she wandered off and by the time she came back we had already started cooing over her.

I rescued a little piggie from P@H today! She was all on her own just beacuse she was a few weeks older than the others! I only ever buy pet supplies from there but couldn't leave her! She's gorgeous, has met my other 3 girls already and has made herself very much at home :D
