Minnie joined our family yesterday to even our numbers out to 2 boys & 2 girls :)

Our reasoning behind was if in the future the boys DO get tetchy with each other with just Daisy there, then to put Daisy on her own would be really unfair!..

So... the plan is for the boys to live together, and the girls to live together. I say live - really, sleep at night, as during the day they will be outwith their cages to play all together .

Rather than go down the petshop route, I rehomed her from a Cavy Rescue. Spent a good bit of time with the lovely owner yesterday and she taught us about each of her rescue piggies, and we finally settled on Minnie.
So far she's noseying around, and we introduced her to Gus, and Daisy - Duke she just got to see through bars as he's on antibiotics again for his wee nose. She was obviously a bit "OMG where am I?!" and defensive at the first meeting of Gus & Daisy. But today we tried again with just Gus ,as with him, as long as there is food around he doesn't care what other pigs are about :D He just wants to eat :D
So she got a good sniff and shared some celery and is a lot more relaxed.

Hopefully things go nice and smoothly!10469679_10152315313667762_5470829957361710687_n.webp 10469679_10152315313667762_5470829957361710687_n.webp 10489621_10152316420482762_5007900130670977708_n.webp 10500395_10152316458387762_2785522227355783858_n.webp 10516824_10152316458392762_2119620144273671894_n.webp 10520425_10152315313672762_8237684578873924655_n.webp

She's from Crofthill Cavy Rescue, in Dalry, Ayrshire :) She is absolutely beautiful. The lady who owns the rescue has masses of space for the piggies to get good running around, and they are well sheltered and cared for. Really inspiring!

That's great, is good to know of another rescue in Scotland as they seem to be few and far between.

I know, I genuinely didn't know she was there, and it was only through an ad that I saw on Preloved did I know she existed. She takes in as many as she can have space for, neuters the boys and wont rehome for breeding purposes as she believes too many are bred then babies sold on. Had a really good talk with her yesterday and I was really impressed by the dedication she has and how much care she has given the piggies she has rescued.

She is gorgeous....

Can we ask are your boys neutered... ?

Lisa & Ali..

That's funny, a couple of weeks ago I got my new boy from her! I found her on pre-loved as well. She is living my dream with her massive garden full of runs and the little guinea pig house full of cages.

My boys are neutered yes :) I had gotten Gus originally, then Duke. Had them both neutered and after a while we brought home Daisy :)

Brilliant gwinnypiggylove ! I was absolutely amazed at the size of her garden and the big house full of cages too.She was absolutely lovely and I could tell just how much she cared about each individual piggy :) One day, I shall live like that :D

Awwwww stunning  Thanks for sharing

It's nice her wee rescue is being discovered now. What amazed me was that she was willing to give up some of her favourites, her personal pets so that I could find a compatible friend!

She's clearly very dedicated :) I wish I had the space to be able to set up my own wee rescue!

Thank you all :) She's lovely. She's a lot bigger than our 3 original piggies so it is good to see just how big they grow.

What a lovely looking lady she is. Hope she settles in well with you

She is stunning. She's taking her time to settle when indoors but outdoors the 4 have been all day and got on great so I'm positive she'll be out of her shell in no time :D
