Junior Guinea Pig
Minnie joined our family yesterday to even our numbers out to 2 boys & 2 girls
Our reasoning behind was if in the future the boys DO get tetchy with each other with just Daisy there, then to put Daisy on her own would be really unfair!..
So... the plan is for the boys to live together, and the girls to live together. I say live - really, sleep at night, as during the day they will be outwith their cages to play all together .
Rather than go down the petshop route, I rehomed her from a Cavy Rescue. Spent a good bit of time with the lovely owner yesterday and she taught us about each of her rescue piggies, and we finally settled on Minnie.
So far she's noseying around, and we introduced her to Gus, and Daisy - Duke she just got to see through bars as he's on antibiotics again for his wee nose. She was obviously a bit "OMG where am I?!" and defensive at the first meeting of Gus & Daisy. But today we tried again with just Gus ,as with him, as long as there is food around he doesn't care what other pigs are about
He just wants to eat
So she got a good sniff and shared some celery and is a lot more relaxed.
Hopefully things go nice and smoothly!
