I thought it was about time that I properly introduced my four foster boys; they are from the large rescue that Crawley GP Rescue was involved with a couple of weeks ago. I must thank Flips for bringing the boys over to me; it was lovely to meet you Sharon.

These little chaps have never been handled so they don't really know what to make of humans! All were rather "moth eaten" on arrival so the first thing we had to do was to bath them all - I was not a very popular foster mummy for a while after that! Chester and Harry are the most confident of the group and poor little Louie is a bag of nerves. Thankfully he has finally stopped chattering his teeth at me whenever I approach him and the other members of the gang have actually started to wheek and talk to me. Chester and Harry have just started to popcorn, their little faces were a picture, they obviously didn't quite know what to make of what had happened bless them.

It is going to be a long slow process with these boys. I have ivomeced them all today as despite the Vet Sect bath they are quite itchy and Harry has managed to catch himself whilst scratching. Anyway, without further ado, meet the boys (more pics to follow) ..........................

As promised here are a few more pictures of the gang.

I think Chester is going to eventually be a "chunky" pig. He is the largest of the group and weighed slightly more than the others. He is also one of the most confident, until you put your hand in his cage! He is beginning to trust us and will take food through the bars of his cage now and happily comes up to chat to me each morning.

Gerry is a funny boy. He and Chester are the only two to have ventured out of their carry cases during run time. He is a very handsome boy and with time I think he will make someone a lovely piggy.

Harry is going to be trouble! He is really coming out of his shell now and is the first to start the morning wheeking chorus!

He is somewhat on the itchy side at the moment, hence the ivomec, but he has started to popcorn and is so funny to watch.

And finally we have little "loopy" Louie bless him. I have never seen a piggy climb the bars/roof of a cage before - until Louie arrived. He is scared of everything but gradually he is calming down a little bit. He is terrible to catch, but once you have him firmly in your arms he will settle down for a brief snuggle.

Of the four he is still looking a bit the worse for wear, his fur is a little thin in places and he just doesn't look happy at the moment. He is eating well, loves readigrass and his dry food so I am hoping it is just taking him a little longer to adjust to his new surroundings.

Thanks for sharing the boys story so far, I will keep you updated.

They are lovely :) glad they've now got a good home and are learning what happiness and love is :)
