Its a very sad story,my brother was doing his work on the bins when he saw a cage had been dumped by the road, upon closer inspection 2 lovely little piggies were inside. My friend was looking after them but her son is sneezing and seems to be allergic,I'm over the moon that I will be getting them,I hoped they would anyway!

They are called Nessie and Moonflower, what makes it more upsetting is the fact Moonflower is blind, she was squeaking in pure distress when she was discovered. She is such a loving little thing,my friend sat stroking her all evening while she fell asleep. Here they are,ill get better pictures when they arrive...

Oh my god. That is horrific. Why do people do vile things like that. If you dont want an animal surrender it to the vets - do not put it in a bin. I really hope there is a hell for vile people like this.

Thank god he discovered them. They are going to have the most amazing life with you know

They are gorgeous - who is whom?

I'm guessing Moonflower is the white Piggie (lovely unusual name BTW :luv:) as she looks like a lethal, still gorgeous of course. Hope they settle in well .

OMG! Moonflower is definitely a lethal guinea pig. Why would someone dump a lethal?! they need all the help they can get!

What gorgeous piggies. How could anyone so cruely dump an animal?!

I'm glad your brother was able to rescue them

I agree with Sport Billy - it's unforgivable that people dump animals . It's a pity these people can't be traced and fined.

There is always a slim chance that dumped animals are stolen so, please keep a look out for any local ads - just in case.

Whatever their circumstances, it's really fortunate you brother found them in time to save them.

I few OP's have pointed out that Moonflower is a lethal piggie. I don't know much about lethals - I will tag @furryfriends (TEAS) who are very knowledgeable about them.

Thankyou,I'm quite upset I didnt know about this,I'm taking her to the Vets for a check up,in fact the practise is near to where she was found, maybe they might have seen her before?I'm hoping so.

Try not to panic (difficult I know. I'm the world's worst). They can live happy lives but they do tend to need dentals etc.

I have a large number of lethal gene piggies here at TEAS. Although they are all blind and deaf they really enjoy life and generally, the ones I have here, have had few health issues. Some of them have incisor problems, with the teeth either missing or growing incorrectly, but apart from that they have all done very well.

People never cease to disappoint me with their disposable attitude to pets. However I'm thrilled that they have found their way to you and will live in safety comfort and love for the rest of their days.

Aww they are beautiful, people should never do this to any animals no matter what medical problems they have, if people cannot afford vet fees or cope with their illnesses they should rehome them... no excuse.

I'm glad someone responsible has taken them in.

 Grrrrrrr! These people who dump animals make my blood boil! Kerrie74 has hit the nail on the head. The previous owner must have found out about the problems with Lethals, couldn't afford the vet fees for that one and decided to dump BOTH piggies. Basically, if someone cannot afford the vet fees, perhaps they should not get the animals in the first place!

Ok.I have been to collect them to get checked out by the vets,my friend Susan wasnt there, the 2 piggies Nessie and Moonflower are completely different ones!
I saved the picture of the couple I thought were them off her many piggie pictures she has on her Instagram,I just asumed the little white one would be Moonflower.

The vet said they are in very good health, and Moonflower which I'm guessing is the one on the left seems to be blind in just one eye,its actually misted over kind of if that makes sense.?
They are lovely all the same and very tame! This is them arriving in the box, before going into their new forever home..

They're lovely. I must admit the little one in the photo did look familiar. There are a few famous lethals online. Think there is one called Flower maybe.

They are beautiful and so lucky to have found a loving home with you. Can't understand people who just dump animals.

Omg that's awful but amazing your brother found them. I worry so much for others that don't get found.

What a wonderful life yours will have now. What great people you all are. X

Just as a sidenote, lethals seem to be the healthiest piggies of the lot! Those who are born with major issues will sadly not survive for long after being born. It is true to say that if they survive beyond infancy, they will still have 'issues' - being deaf-blind, with malformed eyes, head tilt, deformities, dental problems - to name but a few, however, they live with those differences day in day out and truly enjoy life in spite of them. Being fed a balanced diet, with enough exercise and exposure to vitamin d, they thrive. They can get the normal routine things other pigs get but, other than keeping a closer eye on them, they are a pleasure to have! Sidney, Henry, Basil, Albert and Stanley were having a ball in the shed today, snacking on some runner beans...seeing them running around, trying to find a safe place away from the others to eat them was a picture!
