Meet Ruger!

Hey everyone! I just purchased a young male Guinea Pig from Petco on Thursday. I've named him Ruger, after one of my favorite firearms manufacturers. I was recommended to get a small pet by my psychiatrist as a way to help with my anxiety and depression. I deal with a lot of stress, as I am a Corrections Officer at my local county jail here in Tennessee. After two years, the job has started to get to me, and has made my already existing anxiety disorder hard to deal with. Now, Ruger is still very skittish and shy, as to be expected with him being in a new environment. Although, he has already warmed up some to being handled and cuddled. He has already started to help my anxiety and depression. Holding him and listening to him squeak and chutt makes my day! Here are some pictures of the little guy.

Wishing you all the best. I suffer with Fibromyalgia/CFS and there is no doubt that chattering, happy piggies are great company. He looks very cute and will get used to handling given time and patience.
